 Donald R. Steele | Vice President of Softgels 
Donald has over 30 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, marketing and supervising , which includes of large operations in the medical, pharmaceutical, and nutritional industry. After serving as a U.S. Marine Corps, Don graduated Cum Laude from Appalachian State University, with dual degrees of Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and in Biology. Don's medical and pharmaceutical work experience has been with such nationally known companies as: Travenol Laboratories, E.R. Squibb Corporation, Britt Corporation, Edward Weck, and Lawrence Medical Systems.
He played a key role in new product development for softgel encapsulation at Banner Pharmacaps, Inc. - were he served as Vice-President of R&D. It is here that Don developed new processing and manufacturing procedures that were patented and resulted in the launch of NyQuil and DayQuil - the first OTC products in softgel form. He also negotiated with Richardson Vicks for all aspects of the launch of these OTC products. Among his other achievements was also the development of a new method for measuring water content in soft gelatin capsules, a non-destructive test that takes only a few seconds.
Don then went on to serve as a founding member and as Executive Vice-President & Technical Director for SoftGel Technologies, Inc. Overseeing the areas of manufacturing, R&D, laboratory, QA and regulatory affairs, purchasing, accounting, marketing and sales. During his tenure there, he developed approximately 1,000 different formulas for encapsulation in softgel form for nutritional and cosmetic products. In addition, he also developed a patented and unique formulation of Co-Q10, which has proven to be more easily absorbed in the intestines.
Prior to joining Best Formulations, Donald has served as Executive Vice-President of Robinson Pharma, Inc. and as Vice-President of Captek Softgel, Inc. In those capacities, he was also responsible for all aspects of softgel manufacturing and marketing.
His experience clearly makes him one of the most experienced and technical leaders in the softgel industry. We are very glad to have him as our Vice-President of Softgels. He has taken the executive leadership and technical responsibilities of all aspects of our softgel manufacturing.
